Will Edwards Support Clinton?

“You know people, I’m getting a little tired of that Hillary woman.”

Could be he was tired of talking. Possibly just a wee bit cranky. Whatever bee was in John Edwards’ bonnet he put out a little bombshell when he suggested he might not support Hillary Clinton if she gets the Democratic nod.

“I’m not willing to talk about that at this point,” he said when asked the question as he and his team were traveling through eastern Iowa.

It’s easy to give that answer a positive spin. Although this campaign has gone on longer than that boring story by your talkative uncle, not one vote has been cast so the question of supporting someone is a bit premature. Also why didn’t the reporter just ask if Edwards would support the winner of the nomination? Why is the media all about telling us how Hillary’s road to the White House is free of any challengers?

Ahhh, but positive spin never gives you the full story. Joe Biden and Barack Obama answered the question rather easily.

“Of course. What’s the choice, Rudy Giuliani,” Biden asked when his Clinton support was put to the test. You gotta love Biden for his colorful answers.

I’m guessing this is just some temporary funkiness on Edwards’ part and he will line up behind the Democrat who wins the nomination, even if it’s Hillary.

  1. Well folks , maybe its time to form a third party poltical party and back a candidate who really represents our interests and those of the majority of American people :The people that really work for a living ,rather than the power elite that run this country.Presently, we are faced with "look at the new boss same as the old boss" coming from the existing two party system. Granted, it might be too little too late at this stage, but we must start somewhere? In the interim however, it will indeed come down a decision of the "lesser of two evils " and if its the "Republican Lite" Hillary well, so be it, but in the final analysis I guess we will be all screwed again!
  2. I'll take Hillary over a Republican any day. For those of you who do not support her should she become the democratic nominee, I hope you will be able to live with yourselves when the next republican president goes to war with Iran and we have extreme right-wingers controlling the supreme court. I'll take "Republican light" Hillary any day.
  3. I've said it before and I'll repeat it again. Hillary had better not get the nomination or there will be miriads of us Demos who will look elsewhere. A woman would be great--but not this woman. She is at best "Republican Light."
  4. Jen, then pray tell who does? Guiliani or any rethulican. I'll take my chances on Clinton or any Democrat who makes it to the Top!
And for those who would say "I won't vote" Shame on you!
  5. Probably Not! Given her ambigous and enigmatic responses in the debates and her ties with big money and old time Washington politics I am not sure that I can either! Sorry, although I like the fact that she is a woman she simply does not exude a feeling of trust.
