Good News-ish - and Bad News

800px-pennsylvania-counties-map.gif

Joe. My. God. gives us  a little good news and some very bad news today.

Elliot Spitzer announced in a West Village fundraiser that he supports gay marriage - and that once there’s a Democratic state Senate, New York would have marriage (not civil unions, note - marriage.)

The bad news?

The part of Pennsylvnia’s hate crime law protecting sexual orientation and physical disability was overturned by a state court yesterday, 5-1.

So, while we were all fighting over ENDA for a scarecrow battle (we haven’t won til Bush signs it. Ha.) we actually lost real rights.  You can thank the Christian Right activist group Repent America for that.

You can leave a response or trackback from your own site.

  1. Good Luck New York and thank you Elliot Spitzer for your intended support of GLBT's who plan to marry in the future. Perhaps the Christian Right activist group will repent and become Re-Group America.
