Republicans are in a cranky mood and it has nothing to do with “liberal media bias.” The recent Republican loss in a Mississippi special Congressional election has GOP bigwigs worried about fall elections.
“This was a real wake-up call for us,” Robert M. Duncan, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, said.
The concern is the head of the GOP, President George Bush, is so far down in the polls that his troubles are clinging to Republicans running for office. One way for GOP pols to keep from losing any more ground to the Democrats is by acting like they’ve never heard of Bush (think McCain dogging Bush out for the federal response to Katrina). Sure going after the president is going to make independents and Democrats happy but it is a dicey technique for the Republican faithful. Sure Bush’s job approval rating is even low in the GOP, but a large majority of Republicans still think Bush is doing a bang up job. No Republican candidate with any sense wants to make that majority mad.

That's the problem right there..."majority of Republicans still think Bush is doing a bang up job" These people are so blind and out of step with the rest of America it's sad and they will be the doom of their own party.

It's too late Repubs! I was a life-longer until just over a year ago. That party has become so wretched and dishonest that even I couldn't take it any more.
